Beautiful Horses

Horse farm near house, they actually ride these horses on the streets (via a wagon.)  Pretty cool to see them when they go on their walks (usually on the weekend mornings.)

The State Weed

Takes over fields, fences, and smaller homes if not cared for.

The Union

Nearest place to eat near house.  Cool menu with Pittsburgh-ish theme.

Short series of pictures: Shot while driving.

Short series of pictures I took while getting the kids from school.

Fall = Stick Houses!

So after some time playing, I suggested the kids make some stick forts.  Both children worked at collecting sticks and assembling their competing forts.

Eventually, I suggested they combine forces, as they had each amassed quite a stick collection.

Their forts combined, the sat inside their new house for a brief rest, before resuming running about the yard.

Holly and I grabbed chairs and watched and laughed.  I love fall!

Fall outside of Texas

When I woke on Sunday, I was filled with the urge to run off an see a movie with the kids, as we had done so many weekends in Texas.

I opened the back door and was filled with cool, fresh air unlike anything I had experienced in, well, since we lived up North.

Wow, it was awesome.  I fed the kids and then we dashed outside to play in the yard.

Breaking News!!!!

Born in Hawaii to a white American mother and a Black man from Kenya.

Kenya is not in Persia nor in Arabia.

Barak is a Swahili name that means "Blessed."

Senator Obama's middle name is Hussein, which was his grandfather's first name. The name, of Arabic origin, means "good" or "handsome one." It is common in Muslim cultures for children (both boys and girls) to have a middle name which directly connects them to their father or grandfather.

Senator Obama's surname is not uncommon among the Luo tribe, one of the three largest ethnic groups in Kenya. They speak the Dhoulou language.

Who should a Republican pick? "That One!"

I have had it with my Republican party!

They are finally out of ideals, oops, ideas.

They have chosen someone who was 795th in his class of 800; and a running mate who attended 5 schools before muddling through a communications degree.

These two, are no longer the shining light on the hill.  These two represent everything that has become wrong with our dear country.

Sinking standards.  Race baiting.  Outright lies.

Let's take a close look, "my friends", at "That One."

Guided CPC 800

Finally!

I was able to guide my mighty CPC 800 using the macbook and Starry Night!  The trick, after three hours of struggle - was actually in my hand.  Although the main panel on the CPC has an outlet clearly labelled "PC" - I was completely unable to get the laptop to chat it up.  I struggled with different options in between looks at Jupiter - when finally I broke down and READ THE DIRECTIONS.

Turns out the hand controller has a port buried underneath for the said control cable (I was starting to think it was a Mac thing.)

Bad news was that I missed the international space station blow by (takes < 10 minutes to blaze the sky.)

Will try again Friday night - hoping for clear skies!
